Individuals
In an open society, citizens need to have opinions and ideas about important issues.
European science is shaping and enriching our lives. Citizens have a right and responsibility to dialogue about these issues and to contribute their perspectives to the debate.
The impact of science, in the short and long term sometimes isn't clear. Can you really trust what a journalist, researcher or company is telling you about research and science-based products? There are major world issues that affect us all, and science might provide solutions either next week or in the next century.
Citizens are invited to ESOF2008 to dialogue on how science is shaping and enriching our lives.
The ESOF2008 website will become a meeting place for citizens concerned with science. We invite you to visit this website regularly for new profiles, articles and opinions.
